Phulchowki Day Hike is a 1 day hike around Kathmandu valley. Phulchowki means – “Hill of Flowers’ in Nepali is the highest hill (2782m) among the surrounding hills of Kathmandu valley which is located approx. 14 km in the south east of Kathmandu valley. It is 1 hour’ drive from Kathmandu to Phulchowki.
07.00am: Pick up from your hotel and drive to Godavari.
08.00am: Arrive in Godavari. After registering your name details, we will start our day hike to Phulchoki.
Note: Phulchowki which means ‘Hill of Flowers’ in Nepali is the highest hill (2782m) among the surrounding hills of Kathmandu valley. Phulchowki is located 14km away from south east of Kathmandu valley.
Phulchoki Day Hike – the most beautiful hiking trail for flowers, vegetable and bird watching destination in Kathmandu valley. The Phulchoki day hike is challenging but is rewarding with good views of forest, and can see good view of Gaurishanker range of snow-peaked mountains during the clear day.
At the top of the Phulchoki Hill there is a shrine of Phulchowki Mai which is surrounded by prayer flags and tridents. In March and April, you will have a chance to watch the one month long annual religious festival held at the shrine to God Phulchoki. There are some other major festivals on the full moon days in the month of July and August every year.
12.30pm: Reach at top of Phulchowki (2782m), which is rewarded with expansive views of the mountains from eastern part of Annapurna range to Gaurishanker in the east Note: During your hiking, you will experience the vegetation of subtropical thick forest of Oak and rhododendron.
01.00pm: You will have light noodle soup at the local canteen.
02.00pm: Start your downhill trek to Godavari.
05.00pm: Arrive in Godavari and drive to Kathmandu.
06.00pm: Arrive at your hotel. Your Phulchoki Day Hike ends.
