Kathmandu to Janakpur Nepal Tour Package 2 days 1 night is a special Nepal Tour which we designed for those who wish to visit Janakpur, located east Nepal.
Janakpur Nepal is known for its famous Janaki Temple (also known as Janaki Mandir). It was once the the palace for the lovebirds Goddess Sita and Lord Rama.
Janakpur is the birthplace of Goddess Sita too. It is also called the city of love. A lot of couples get married at the Janaki Temple, and it is believed that once a couple ties the knot at the Janaki Temple, they will be blessed and will live happily together forever.
To visit Janakpur, you need only take an 8-hour ride from Kathmandu. This ride will bring you through the beautiful and scenic BP Highway of Nepal. It is about 226km from Kathmandu.

07.00am: Pick up from your hotel in Kathmandu, and we will drive to Janakpur via the scenic BP highway. NOTE: Lunch en route at local restaurant. Your tour guide will tell you where is the best spot to get lunch.
03.00am: Arrive at Janakpur, check into Hotel Sitasharan – the best hotel in Janakpur Nepal.

Description: Janaki Temple is the palace where Goddess Sita was born. It was built in the year of 1898 by Queen Brisabhanu Kunwari (Tikamgarh, India). It was also known as “Nine lakh Temple” as the cost of construting this Janaki Temple is “900 000 rupees”.
Description: Vivah Mandap Temple is a another building located next to Janaki Temple/Janaki Mandir. This is the place where Goddess Sita and Lord Rama were married. According to Ramayana, prince Rama was the only man who could lift the “bow” of Lord Shiva. Thus the King (father of princess Sita) married his daughter Sita to prince Rama. This Vivah Mandap Temple is the place which marked the marriage of these two lovebirds.
Description: At 6.30pm daily, many devotees came to Ganga Sagar for prayers and lighting of candles. The pilgrims believe that whosoever takes a dip in Ganga Sagar at Janakpur will attain “Moksha”. It will bring wealth and prosperity, and this Ganga Sagar is as holy as “Ganga Ganges” in Varanasi of India.
NOTE: We will bring you to the nicest “Lassi” in Nepal, located at Janak Chowk close to the Janaki Temple. It is at the Bindu Lassi Shop. It is the best in Nepal, and maybe even India. The “Lassi” in Ason Market Kathmandu originates from Janakpur Nepal.
07.00pm: Return to hotel. Dinner at hotel.
08.00pm: Rest and relax after dinner. Tour ends.

07.00am: We will visit the Janaki Temple again in the morning, to see the locals’ life/culture around the Janaki Temple. You will see barber shops on the street, cows, goats, ducks, pigs, and chickens. If you want to experience “India”, Janakpur Nepal is the place you must visit.
08.30am: We will visit “Nepal Railway” – This is the only railway in Nepal which connects Jaynagar in India and Janakpur. It is 53km long. It is however currently not in operation. It will only resume operation in the year 2020.
11.00am: We will drive from Janakpur to Kathmandu. The journey will take around 8 hours on the scenic BP highway. NOTE: Lunch en route at own expense.
07.00pm: Arrive in Kathmandu, check into your hotel. Tour ends.
