Overview

If you would like to visit Annapurna Base Camp with a complementary hike to Ghorepani/Poon Hill, Annapurna Sanctuary Trek 10 days 9 nights is for you.

The trek passes through the cultural Gurung and Thakali villages. It will bring you past rhododendron forests before hiking up to Poon Hill for a superb view of the Himalayan peaks of Dhaulagiri, Annapurna I, Hiunchuli, Annapurna South and Machapuchare (also known as Fishtail mountain).

You will follow the trail alongside Modi Khola towards Annapurna Base Camp at 4130m. Annapurna Base Camp is a natural amphitheater surrounded by 360 degree views of Annapurna ranges.

Day 1: Pokhara to Banthanti (2300m)

Day 2: Banthanti – Ghorepani – Poonhill (3193m)

Itinerary

Day 1: Pokhara to Banthanti (2300m)

08.00am: Pick up from hotel in Pokhara, transfer to Nayapol. NOTE: 1.5 hours drive from Pokhara.

09.30am: Arrive at Nayapol (1070m). NOTE: You will need to show your TIMS & Annapurna Conservation Project Permit at Birethanti (1025m). 

10.30am: Arrive at Ramghai. Continue the trek to Sudame (1340m)

11.15am: Tea break at Sudame.

11.45am: Continue the trek to Hille (1460m). NOTE: It will take about an hour from Sudame to Hille.

12.45pm: Lunch at Hille.

01.45pm: After lunch, continue the trek to Tikhedhunga (1540m). NOTE: It’s a 30-minute walk, followed by more than 2000 uphill stone steps.

03.00pm: Arrive in Ulleri (2070m), then continue the trek to Banthanti (2300m). NOTE: It’s a 30-minute treks from Ulleri to Banthanti.

04.00pm: Arrive in Banthanti. Overnight in Banthanti. Dinner at the hotel’s restaurant. After dinner, rest and relax.

Day 2: Banthanti – Ghorepani – Poonhill (3193m)

07.00am: Breakfast at the hotel.

08.00am: Check out. Start the trek to Nangethanti (2430m). NOTE: 2.5 hours uphill trek. Bhurungdi river is on the right side before crossing the bridge. Amazing views of jungle and river.

10.30am: Arrive in Nangethanti, tea break time.

11.00am: Continue the trek to Ghorepani (2860m). NOTE: 1.5 hours uphill trek.

12.30pm: Arrive in Ghorepani. Check into hotel. Lunch in Ghorepani. Rest & relax after checking in to your hotel.

04.00pm: Trek to Poonhill (3193m) for sunset. NOTE: It is a 1 hour trek to Poonhill.

06.30pm: Return to hotel. Dinner in the hotel.

NOTE:

  • It is a 1 hour trek to Poonhill.
  • Viewing of sunset at Poonhill is dependent on the weather. If you don’t get a good sunset view, we will bring you to Poonhill again the next morning for the sunrise. For those who wish to view both sunset and sunrise, you may trek to Poonhill yourself.

Day 3: Ghorepani – Tadapani (2630m)

07.30am: Breakfast at hotel.

08.00am: Begin the trek to Tadapani (2630m). NOTE: This is a 1.5 hours trek.

09.30am: We will arrive in Deurali (3090m). Continue the trek to Banthanti (3180m). NOTE:Ghorepani to Durali is 2-hours trek, and Deurali to Banthanti is an another 2-hour trek. You will get to see amazing views of the Annapurna range of mountains on your left side, and green hills on your right. Please do however focus on your footing as the terrain is slightly treacherous, and the trail is small and narrow.

12.00am: Lunch at Banthanti (3180m).

01.00pm: Trek to Tadapani continues. NOTE: This is a 2-hour trek. 1 hour of it will be downhill, and another 1 hour uphill.

03.00pm: Arrive in Tadapani. Check in hotel. Rest & Relax. Dinner at the hotel. NOTE: At Tadapani, you will see amazing snow peaks / mountains of Annapurna South. Make sure you wake up at 5.30am to watch the sunrise from your hotel!

Day 4: Tadapani - Chhromrong (2170m)

07.00am: Breakfast at hotel.

08.00am: Start the trek to Chhomrong (2170m). NOTE: 4 hours trek in total. 1 hour downhill, before arrivin in Chuile Village. Continue the downhill trek to Ghurnung for another 30 minutes. We will cross a suspension bridge over Kimrong river, then we will start the uphill trek to Kimrong for 1 hour.

12.00pm: Arrive at Kimrong. Lunch in Kimrong.

01.00pm: Continue the trek to Chhomrong (2170m). NOTE: The trek will take about 1.5 hours. The beautiful and peaceful Chhromrong Village is located in the mountains’ valley with amazing views of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Fish Tail, and many other mountains.

Day 5: Chhromrong to Bamboo (2310m)

06.00am: Sunrise from hotel.

08.00am: Breakfast at hotel.

09.00am: Check out. Downhill trek for 30 minutes and uphill trek for 1 hour to Lower Sinuwa.

10.30am: Arrive at Lower Sinuwa and continue uphill trek to Upper Sinuwa (2360m) for 1 hour. NOTE: We see Fish Tail on your right, Gangapurna in front of you, and Himchuli on your left.

11.30am: Lunch at Upper Sinuwa. You will see beautiful views of Chhromrong Village and Gandruk Village as a backdrop.

12.30pm: We will continue our trek (30 minutes normal trail, and 1 hour downhill) to Bamboo (2310m).

NOTE:

  • You will get to see animals and beautiful waterfalls.
  • During the trek from Upper Sinuwa to Bamboo, you will see be flowers/plantations like orchids and ferns.

02.00pm: Arrive at Bamboo. Overnight in Bamboo.

Day 6: Bamboo – Dovan – Himalaya – Deurali (3230m)

8.00am: Breakfast at hotel.

8.30am: We start the uphill trek to Dovan (2600m) for 2 hours. Tea break at Dovan. NOTE:You will see half of the Fish Tail mountain at Dovan on your right

10.30am: We continue the trek from Dovan to Himalaya (2920m). This is an uphill trek for 2.5 hours with a narrow trekking trail.

01.00pm: Lunch in Himalaya.

02.00pm: We continue the trek to Deurali (3230m). Overnight in Deurali. NOTE: You get the same view as per in Chhromrong. Dinner in hotel.

Day 7: Deurali – Fish Tail Base Camp – Annapurna Base Camp (4130m)

08.00am: Breakfast at hotel.

09.00am: We start the trek (uphill trek for 2.5 hours) to Fish Tail Base Camp. NOTE: You will be within the avalanche area. Please note that you will be here at your own risk. Please follow your guide’s instruction strictly.

11.30am: Lunch at Fish Tail Base Camp. NOTE: Magnificent views of the entire Annapurna Range of mountains and Hiunchuli, Tenpeak, and Gangapurna.

12.30pm: We will continue the trek to ABC (Annapurna Base Camp). NOTE: Uphill trek for 3 hours.

03.00pm: Arrive at Annapurna Base Camp (ABC). Overnight in ABC. Dinner in your hotel.

Day 8: ABC – Himalaya – Dovan – Bamboo (2310m)

08.00am: Breakfast. After breakfast we trek back to Fish Tail Base Camp. NOTE: 1.5 hours downhill trek.

09.30pm: We continue our trek to Deurali (3230m) for 1.5 hours. It will be a downhill trek.

11.00pm: Lunch at Deurali.

12.00pm: After lunch, we start the trek to Himalaya for 1 hour. It will be a downhill trek. Then continue the trek to Dovan for 2 hours.

03.00pm: Tea break in Dovan.

04.00pm: We continue the trek for 30 minutes to Bamboo (2310m). Overnight in Bamboo. Dinner in your hotel.

Day 9: Bamboo – Chhomrong – Jhinu Danda (1780m)

Highlights: Amazing views of snow-peaked mountains + Hot Spring Bath

08.00am: Breakfast. After breakfast we continue the trek to Upper Sinuwa, then to Lower Sinuwa. NOTE: This trek is 2 hours long.

10.00am: Tea break at Lower Sinuwa.

10.30am: We continue the trek to Chhomrong for 1.5 hours. We will then continue the downhill trek to Jhinu Danda Hot Spring for 45 minutes.

01.00pm: Arrive in Jhinu Danda, check in hotel. Lunch in hotel.

02.00pm: Rest & relax. We will go to the pool after your lunch. NOTE: It is about 30 minutes from the hotel to the pool. You can go at your own leisure. Our tour guide will provide you the information. Dinner in the hotel.

Day 10: Jhinu Danda – Kyumi – Siwai – Pokhara

08.00am: Breakfast. After breakfast, we start the trek to Kyumi (1340m). NOTE: 3 hours’ trek.

11.00am: Lunch at Kyumi (1340m)

12.00pm: After lunch, we continue the trek to Siwai. NOTE: 1 hour trek.

01.00pm: Arrive in Siwai. We will pick you up using a Jeep. NOTE: You will be dropped back at Birethanti. You will need to show your TIMS & Annapurna Conservation Project Permit at Birethanti (1025m) to inform the authorities that you have finished your trek.

04.00pm: Arrive in your hotel in Pokhara. Treks ends. Congratulations!

IMPORTANT NOTE: There are occasional road blocks from Siwai to Nayapol. If this happens, no cars can pass, and you will need to take a 2-hour trek to Nayapol if the road is blocked.

Important Notes

  • Time schedules in the itinerary are for reference. Changes of time and schedule will be advised by your tour guide depending on the situation, weather conditions, and road conditions during the tour.
  • Customers have to write in email for confirmation.
  • Payment phases:
    • 50% upon Confirmation,
    • 50% upon Pick up from your hotel.
  • Please note that the itineraries are subject to change. The schedule will always depend on the time available and weather conditions. Some of them can be cancelled without prior notice. There will be no refund upon cancellation if the guest does not keep to the agreed upon time, or if there are bad weather conditions.

    • A scanned copy of your passport in JPEG or PDF format.
    • A passport sized photo in JPEG format.
  • Following this, you should make a 50% deposit to us via PayPal or to our bank account.
  • 50% deposit will be paid by your side via either PayPal or bank in to our Nepal Company account. The remaining amount can be deposited after arriving in Nepal.
  • We will issue the official payment receipt to you once we receive the payment.
  • Upon pick up, we will check your trekking gears, and will pass you your TIMS and Annapurna Conservation Area entry permit.
  • Welcome to Nepal. We will greet you upon pick up in your hotel.
